Educator Professional Development: Learning Heritage & History of West Texas Cowboy Culture
Calling all 3rd grade educators!

Join us for a professional development opportunity at the Midland County History Museum in February 2026.

“Learning the Heritage and History of West Texas Cowboy Culture”
Presented by Catalyst Texas Tech College of Education
Tuesday, February 3, 2026
9:00 am to 3 pm

Historians, professors, and community-based experts will guide and support participant learning. Educators will learn lived experiences of persons on the western frontier along with doll making skills from local resources that acknowledge and celebrate West Texas culture. Each full-day participant will receive a starter box of materials to create cowboy dolls in their classroom. Breakfast and lunch are included for the day.
