- **Event Start and End Date**: Tue, 13 Jan, 2026 at 11:30 am
- **Event Description**: Speaker: Tom Ashmore, President of the West Texas Archeological Society

Horsehead Crossing on the Pecos River was a vital crossing point in the West, used by Jumano Indians, Comanche raiders, wagon trains, stagecoaches, freighters, and cattle drives. It was one of the few fordable points on the Pecos River in the early days of this wild and open territory.

Tom Ashmore, President of the West Texas Archeological Society and official historian for Horsehead Crossing, has studied the site for 16 years. Using expertise from his 40-year USAF intelligence career, he is applying satellite and drone technology to uncover the site’s lost history and will share insights into his research methods and discoveries.
