Official Competition Rules
Entry Fee: $250 per Team
Entry Fee Due By: 6:00 PM March 20th
Includes 10x15 Cook Space & 4 Team Members
Grills & Smokers Allowed (Wood, Charcoal, Gas, Electric, Pellet)
Free RV Spots (NO ELECTRIC — Bring Generator)
$3 Beer All Weekend | No Outside Alcohol

1. General Rules
• Non-sanctioned backyard-style competition.
• Head cook must be 21+.
• Teams must check in before setup and cook on-site.
• Good sportsmanship required.
• Judges’ decisions are final.

2. Categories
• Brisket
• Ribs
• Chicken
• Anything with Bacon
3. Meat Inspection & Prep
• All meat must be raw at Friday 7:00 PM inspection.
• No pre-seasoned or pre-marinated meat before inspection. 
 
4. Cooking Rules
• All meat must be cooked on-site.
• No sharing meat between teams.
5. Turn-In Times (Saturday)
• Anything with Bacon – 2:00 PM
• Chicken – 3:00 PM
• Ribs – 4:00 PM
• Brisket – 5:00 PM
• 10-minute window before/after time. Late = DQ.

6. Judging Criteria
• Appearance (1–10)
• Taste (1–10)
• Tenderness (1–10)
• Any meat not meeting safe internal temperature standards at judging will be disqualified.
• Tie Breaker: Taste, then Tenderness, then Appearance.

7. Turn-In Requirements
• Minimum 6 portions.
• Use provided containers.
• No marked or identifying containers.

8. Cleanliness & Safety
• Fire extinguisher required at each site.
• Maintain clean cook area.
• Proper food handling required.
• No grease dumping on ground.

9. Awards
• 1st–3rd in each category.
• Grand Champion & Reserve Grand Champion.
• Cash payouts based on number of entries.
