"description": "Welcome to Cuddle Party, a combination communication workshop and safe space to explore nurturing touch, cleverly disguised as a pajama party!\nHave recent events left you feeling out of touch with friends and loved ones? Would you like more nourishing connection and touch in your life? \nA Cuddle Party may be just the thing! \nBelow are logistics for the event and what you can expect to experience. \nThe Cuddle Party lasts for three hours.\n6:30pm - 7:00pm Doors Open. Arrive, check in, put on pajamas. Greet your fellow attendees. Bringing a snacks and cuddle accessories to share are also welcomed.\n7:00pm - 8:00pm The Welcome Circle: Names, pronouns and a short version of what interested you in Cuddle Party.\n8:00pm - 9:45pm Freestyle cuddling, time for affectionate nurturing touch, and hanging out with friends.\n9:45pm - 10:00pm Closing circle, and goodbyes.\nHEALTH CHECK-IN: In the fall a negative covid test taken 24 hours prior to the event will be required. However, for the summer, June-August, I am waiving Covid testing for the summer months. My ask is that if you aren't feeling well is please stay home and take care of yourself. \nSTARTING ON TIME: Once we begin the Welcome Circle, the door to the event is closed. This creates comfort and safety for everyone knowing that we are on the same page about rules and expectations.\nCREATING THE CONTAINER: After the Welcome circle, we go over the ‘rules of cuddling’, which are listed below. This is how we create a safe environment, for everyone, to give and receive nourishing touch.\nWHAT KIND OF TOUCH TO EXPECT: Massages, head scratching, spooning, watching/observing, learning about consent, talking, dancing, laughter, holding hands, napping, hugs, writing in a journal or reading a book.\nWHAT TO WEAR: Pajamas or sweats– nothing too risqué. Think more comfy than sexy. \nWHAT TO BRING: This is a alcohol free/smoke free event. Juice or sparkling cider, and treats and snacks to share. A pillow, stuffed animal, favorite blanket if you like. \nTHE RULES OF CUDDLING: (Abiding by the below rules is how we create a safe environment, for everyone, to give and receive nourishing touch.) \n1) Pajamas stay on the whole time. (This is a nonsexual event, and clothes staying on is one of the ways we keep it that way.)\n2) You don’t have to touch anyone at a Cuddle Party, ever. \n3) You must ask permission and receive a verbal YES before you touch anyone. (Be as specific in your request as you can.) \n4) If you’re a yes, say YES. If you’re a no, say NO. \n5) If you’re a maybe, say NO. \n6) You are encouraged to change your mind. \n7) Respect your relationship agreements and communicate with your partner. \n8) Get your Facilitator or the Assistant if you have a question or concern or need assistance with anything during the event. \n9) Tears and laughter are both welcome. \n10) Respect people’s privacy. (When referring to Cuddle Party, please only talk about your own experience.)\n11) Keep the Cuddle space tidy. (Please, no food in the cuddle space. Closed lid water bottles are allowed.)\nQuestions? Call 203-806-0040 or email DougPouliot@gmail.com\nSee you in the cuddle space! \n- Doug :)"
