Skyline Agility Club is hosting AKC ACT events on Friday, December 19 through Sunday, December 21. ACT is the AKC’s Agility Course Test, which is a pre-Novice course.
ACT events are open to all dogs 15 months or older that have not completed any AKC Agility titles. Dogs do not have to be registered with AKC to compete. Dogs must be registered with AKC to be awarded an AKC ACT title, but this can be done after the event. Dogs may enter any height, regardless of size – it’s the handler’s choice what height to run. A-frame will be set at 5’ for all heights.
Friday, December 19 -
Skyline will host two Rounds of ACT1 Jumpers starting at 6pm. Dogs with an ACT2J title may not enter ACT1J. Dogs may be entered in one or both Rounds. The ACT1J title is earned with two qualifying scores. Courses are 10-12 obstacles long (no weaves). Following the two tests, entered teams may opt to run a course again for practice/training (free with entry).
Saturday, December 20 -
Skyline will host two Rounds of ACT1 starting at 9:30am. Dogs with an ACT2 title may not enter ACT1. Dogs may be entered in one or both Rounds. The ACT1 title is earned with two qualifying scores. Following the two tests, entered teams may opt to run a course again for practice/training (free with entry).
Skyline will then host two Rounds of ACT2 starting at 1pm. Dogs may be entered in one or both Rounds. Dogs do not have to have an ACT1 title to enter ACT2. The ACT2 title is earned with two qualifying scores. Courses are 11-13 obstacles long, consisting of ACT1 equipment plus the seesaw, tire, and 6 weaves.
