Join over 100,000 film lovers in over 500 cities across the world who gather for one reason...to view and vote on the Finalists' Films in the 29th Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival.

You Be the Judge! Who determines the winners of MANHATTAN SHORT? A worldwide audience. Cinema-goers across the United States and around the globe become instant film critics as they are handed a ballot upon entry that allows them to vote for the Best Film and Actor. MANHATTAN SHORT is the ultimate audience award that salutes the creative talents of both directors behind the camera and actors in front of it.

Two Nights Only! Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 (Both dates will feature the same short films.) 

Screening: 7:30pm (doors open at 7pm)

Admission: Adults - $12, Students - $8
 
Refunds: (minus ticketing fees) Tickets are refundable from the time of purchase until 24 hours prior to the film. ALL tickets are non-refundable under any circumstance within 24 hours from the event.

Exchanges: Are not available for films.

Wheelchair accessible seating is available. First floor gender neutral restrooms are located next door to the theatre in the visual arts center.

                "description": "The Everett Theatre has become one of Middletown's most treasured and recognizable features, having played a part in the town's cultural and historical development throughout the last eighty-five years. The theatre has been the venue for various events through the years; including community theatre groups, orchestra performances, battling bands, dance exhibitions, weekly movies, and talent shows. In 1989, the Everett made it's jump onto the silverscreen as the location for the school production of \"A Midsummer's Night Dream\" in the film \"The Dead Poets Society.\"\n\nThe theatre, originally called the Masonic Hall and Opera House, first opened it's doors in 1863. It served and prospered as a center for the arts and as a town meeting place until succumbing to a great fire in 1918. A new building was quickly reconstructed and was devoted to the new motion picture phenomenon. Unfortunately, this new building went down in flames only three years later.\n\nThe current structure was built in 1922 and consists of mainly terra cotta blocks and plaster, rather than wood, in hopes to avoid another devastating fire. In the spring of 2008, not long after the audience and cast of an Easter Show had cleared out, the roof and ceiling directly in front of the balcony collapsed to the ground.\n\nThe community rallied after the ceiling collapse and through a wide array of fund raising, the interior of the theater was beautifully restored.\n\nToday, the Everett is proud to offer wide array of musicals, plays, comedians, movies, educational opportunities, and summer camps.
