- **Event Description**: Our next meeting is on Saturday 8 November and this month we are pleased to welcome back Ian Robinson, who will be speaking on 'Succulents for the Cactophile.'

Ian Robinson hardly requires an introduction, having spoken at Manchester branch numerous times over the years and been a regular supporter of all our events including the RHS Bridgewater Weekend, Northwest Cactus Mart, and most recently, the Northwest Mesemb Show, where he displayed many of his remarkable plants. 

Ian has been a specialist grower of cacti and succulents since 1952, when he began the hobby at age five. He is a National Show judge for the BCSS and runs Robinson Cactus Nursery with his wife Janet at Ty’n-Y-Llidiart Farm near Wrexham, North Wales.

Ian's talk will be based on some of the succulents he has grown over the past 50 years, helping (he hopes!) to decide which ones are most appropriate to be grown in the same greenhouse as cacti, some of which are pictured here.
