His current work focuses on the cognitive neuroscience of risk and gambling. As the lead of the MIND Lab, he is the Principal Investigator on a UKRI/AHRC grant exploring gambling harm vulnerabilities and an Academic Forum for the Study of Gambling (AFSG) grant investigating sports engagement and gambling behaviour.Dr Andrew Richarson is based at Newcastle University, serves as the Research Associate lead for the ADPH North East Gambling Related Harms Programme. His role involves evaluating health and well-being outcomes for the program across 12 North East authorities and leading research prioritisation for the regional network.
