As part of our AGM weekend of Fixtures, we are pleased to offer this opportunity to explore their 100-acre Port of Middlesbrough facility, get up close to their locomotives, and enjoy a journey around the site’s rail connected facilities. The highlight will be the use of 08410 and one of either 08598 or 08774, hauling our very own refurbished mess van ‘Molly’ for passenger rides.
We have now agreed an operational plan for the day, and subject to all the usual on the day operational requirements, we are expecting to visit the purpose built Automotive Steel Terminal, Ayrton Dry Bulk Terminal, North Sea Supply Base Wharf, Tees Riverside Intermodal Park and the NR boundary. We are also aiming to traverse track not previously covered on other fixtures.
We will board ‘Molly’ in the Automotive terminal, so each individual will need to be able to manage three steps with hand rails to get on board. Please bear this in mind when booking.
Profits from this fixture will be provided to AV Dawson nominated good cause Friends of the S & DR.
2 trips each lasting 90 minutes will operate, at 09.00 & 11.00. These 2 trips are primarily aimed at track enthusiasts.
1 trip lasting approximately 45 minutes will operate at 13.00. This trip is primarily aimed at traction/loco enthusiasts and will not be covering all the rare tracks of the earlier trips, but will focus on a simple route to maximise distance.
All 3 trips feature the use of 08410 and one of either 08598 or 08774.
