Middlesboro Magical Christmas Pageant

General Information

The 2025 Middlesboro Christmas Parade is proud to present the 1st beauty pageant at the Central Arts Auditorium in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Open to all states. This is an event that is designed to give a positive environment for participants with a competitive spirit. This is a beauty competition. Participants are encouraged to be involved with their communities as well as showcase their personality. Judges will be looking for beauty, style, and poise in the on-stage presentation. The criteria for judging will follow the traditional means of a beauty contest. We will have a winner in each age division. We will crown one Overall Grand Middlesboro Queen. You must enter all categories to qualify for the Overall Grand Middlesboro Queen. We will not Double Crown for the winners – the Overall Grand Middlesboro Queen will not win her age division. There is absolutely no previous pageant experience required.

Each contestant will be given one pass and 2 tickets to the pageant. All others will need to purchase a Middlesboro Queen ticket during online pre-sale, or at the Beauty Pageant Door in Cash (no checks) to enter the competition.

We will offer these tickets at the pre-sale price of $10.00 12 & up, Senior Citizens (55+) $5, youth 5-11 $5, and children under 5 free. Day of pageant tickets are $20 12 & up, Senior Citizens, and youth 5-11 $10.

Pageant Queens & Princesses will win a crown, trophy, and satin sash. Runners-up (in each age division) will win a trophy. Wee & Tiny Miss will win a trophy. Mini Middlesboro King will win a crown and a trophy. Category winners will win a trophy.

Categories & Entry Fees

The entry fee is $75 (8 years & up) & $50 (12 months - 7 years) & $50 for Mini King. All fees paid are non-refundable.

The $75 entry fee in each age division for Princess and Queen includes numbers 1, 2, 3 & 4 below. Other entries are Optional Categories with additional fees.

1) Personality – Judged on eye contact, smile, and comfort.

2) Fashion – Judged on style and fit.

3) Beauty – Judged on overall facial beauty.

4) Presentation – Judged on overall stage presence and confidence on stage.

The $50 entry fee for Mini Middlesboro King will cover numbers 1, 2 & 3 below. Other entries are Optional Categories with additional fees.

1) Personality – Judged on eye contact, smile, and comfort.

2) Attire – Judged on style and fit.

3) Stage Presentation – Judged on overall stage presence and confidence on stage.

The Princess & Queen will have the highest combined scores in categories 1, 2, 3 & 4.

The Mini King will have the highest combined scores in categories 1, 2 & 3.

5) Photogenic (ALL) (optional $20 for 1st photo & $5 each additional photo) - Judged on interesting photo subject, most photogenic face, and surrounding background. Photos must be at least 5x7 and 8x10 in size. Photos can be black & white or color. Name & age must be on the back of the photo. Photos will not be returned.

6) Theme (Princess, Queen & King) (optional $10) – judged on the attire that is made in the “Christmas Theme”. Judged on the most creative outfit. This will be judged in the opening number.

7) Modeling (Queen Only) (optional $10) – The highest scores in stage presence and routine. The pattern will be set up for “T” shaped modeling. Entrance will be center back with three X’s at the stage front. Modeling ability & potential will be scored.

8) Prettiest Eyes (ALL) (optional $5)

9) Prettiest Smile (ALL) (optional $5)

10) Prettiest Hair (Queen & Princess) (optional $5)

11) Best Evening Gown (Queen Only) (optional $10)

12) Most Handsome (King Only) (optional $10)

13) Popularity Award (free option) – The contestant with the biggest cheering section in the audience will be named Miss or Mister Popularity. (not included in overall score).

14) Overall Grand Middlesboro Queen – You must enter all categories to qualify. The winner will have the highest combined score in all award categories.

Junior Miss 11-14 years

Teen Miss 15-18 years (still in high school)

Miss 18-24 years (out of high school & attending college)

Ms. 19 years and up (unmarried, divorced, children ok)

Mrs. 18 years and up (must be married…children ok)

Attire

Pageant attire for all age divisions is party or formal wear and may be any length, color, or style; only one outfit is required. Ladies competing in the age division of 8 years of age or older could have two appearances on stage, if you choose to do the opening presentation (which is optional). The first (option) will be in costumes with a CHRISTMAS theme. The second appearance for this older group will be in your competition gown. The 12-month - 7-year-old divisions will appear once in pageant dress/Sunday best.

Judging

The judges will score contestants in presentation (on stage), personality (character), attire (fashion), and beauty (hair, eyes, face). Our judges will be highly qualified in the beauty, arts, fashion, modeling, and talent fields. All judges’ decisions are final. Judges have requested that there be no contact with them from contestants and/or family before or following the competition.

Awards

The winner of each age group will receive a trophy, tiara, and satin sash. The runners-up will be presented with a trophy. Trophies will be awarded for personality, modeling, most beautiful face, fashion, Christmas theme, photogenic, talent, and Miss Popularity. Contestants not named in the above awards will receive a special award. Miss Middlesboro Queen (18 & older) will receive a scholarship (universities pending). Candidates for Miss Middlesboro Queen must be single, never married, and never given birth. Each winner will be given a free entry into the Middlesboro Christmas Parade, but you will have to provide your own entry vehicle.

Application

You should read this information completely before you submit your form and deposit. Complete the personal history form and send a copy of your birth certificate. Please attach a recent wallet headshot photo.

Registration information and fees are due no later than November 14, 2025. After that, no entries will be accepted. Fees must be paid with a business (sponsor) check or money order payable to Inferno Group. Mail all applications to P.O. Box 394,Harrogate,TN37752. No personal checks will be accepted.

We reserve the right to reject any application for any reason.

Additional Information

Sponsors may be obtained from businesses and/or families. Multiple sponsors are also accepted. Your sponsor will be identified by the Emcee to the audience when the candidates appear on the floor. You can sponsor yourself if you wish. Up to 5 sponsors' names will be announced during the pageant.

There will be NO Video Cameras and Pictures taken in the auditorium. A professional photographer will be on hand taking pictures during the competition and crowning. While modeling on stage, we will have professional lighting in a theater-like darkened atmosphere. Therefore, for the safety of our contestants while on stage, we ask that no flashes be used. Winners will be featured in the Middlesboro Christmas Parade. The Grand Queen will be designated as the Grand Marshal for the parade. Our photographer will be with us to get pictures of all the events. All pictures will be displayed on his website.

Recommending Friends – Feel free to make copies for your friends (put your name on the form before you give it out). For each friend that enters, you will receive a free category entry.

Rehearsal – The ladies from the 8-year & up age divisions will have a rehearsal time to practice their first appearance on the stage. You will receive a notification about when and where as the time draws nearer for the pageant.

Rules & Regulations

1) Your age as of pageant day will determine what age group you will compete in.

2) You must compete in all categories to be considered for the Overall Grand Queen.

3) Must be a U.S. citizen, 12 months old or older.

4) You must not have been convicted of a felony crime.

5) Teen & Miss contestants must be single and have never been married nor have a child.

6) All fees are non-refundable

7) Points will be deducted if time limits are exceeded in competitions.

8) We reserve the right to combine age divisions based on fairness if the contestant number per division is less than 2.

9) We reserve the right to put a maximum cap on divisions if they become too crowded.

10) Inappropriate behavior by any contestant or anyone connected to a contestant before OR after the competition will result in immediate and just disqualification. In case of such an event, the title will be passed to the contestant with the next highest score. The same circumstances will be held in the instance of gossip or excessive criticism after the competitions. Anyone who violates this rule is subject to removal and banning from any future competitions hosted by the Inferno Group. The code of conduct will be strictly enforced. The Judges have requested that no coaching be done by members of the audience. If you feel that you need to coach your child, you must go on stage with them.

11) You will permit the Inferno Group and their licensees to televise live, stream, or broadcast, or by use of film or videotape, any portion or all of the competition.

12) You will permit the Inferno Group and their licensees to use your photograph(s) for publicity purposes.

13) Any misrepresentation of information on this application will result in disqualification.

14) All Judges' Decisions are Final.

There will be no registrations, new entries, or changes at sign-in time.

Divisions are subject to change according to the number of contestants in age divisions.
