Hyla Perillo (CDT Alum & Dance Major at Marymount Manhattan in NYC) and Sarah Berry (CDT Alum & Dance Major at The University of Michigan) will premier new solos for this performance. “Both Sarah and Hyla are such inspirational dancers, it is wonderful to have our alumni come home and give back so much to our current dancers,” said Co-Owner Sue Buck. Betsy Carr, CDT Artistic Director, Sarah Wolff, the Academy’s Ballet Director and DAA Faculty Laurie Murphy, Erin Peck, Tya Harrison, Michelle Mazzarella, Holly Provenzano, and Alyssa Troyer, have also choreographed exciting pieces for
“Extraordinary Magic”. CDT’s only graduating Senior, Elizabeth Hebert, who is featured in many of our group pieces, will premier a self-choreographed solo in both Upper Level performances. Elizabeth was one of 6 dancers selected as a “Rock Star Dancer” from the JUMP dance convention in Detroit with over 1,000 dancers in attendance.
"Our dancers have earned Top Honors in each of the Elite Level Competitions we attended this season, as well as performing a full length Nutcracker” shared Co-Owner Betsy Carr. “These dancers are dedicated, talented, positive and hard working, and that has contributed greatly to the wonderful year we’ve had. This concert will celebrate all of that inspiration.”
