In this class you will learn:

• Basic HVAC terminology so that you can properly explain what is happening in the home
• About infiltration due to duct leakage and how it affects dust, allergens and humidity and how you can properly solve those issues
• The importance of properly sized equipment

Duct Work

• Why proper airflow is as important as duct sealing
• How to size added returns and calculate if you need to so
• How jumper ducts may be an answer to many problems
• Understanding supply leakage vs return leakage and why it is important to seal both in many homes
• How to seal duct work that may be in cavities of the home
• How to get rid of pressure imbalances that may be the root cause of issues
• How to turn the invisible into visible so that you can properly show homeowners the problem, not just tell them

Test Instruments

• How to use a static pressure gauge and where to measure at
• How an Anemometer can be used to sell larger grilles or filters
• Why a flow hood can help you measure airflow and how to air balance a home
• How to use the TEC TruFlow to get accurate air flow measurements
• How to properly use a duct air tightness tester to measure duct leakage before selling

What You Will Earn: This class offers continuing education units (CEUs) for BPI and for NATE. When you provide us with your identification number for either organization, you can receive 12 BPI CEUs and/or 24 NATE CEUs (associated specialties).

Costs and Fees :

Course Fee: $2,625.00 per person

Aeroseal will supply lunch on both days and host a group dinner on the first night. Please note that hotels and transportation are not covered. We suggest considering car rental, as securing Uber and/or Lyft in the Dayton area could be challenging.
