Miami is one of the most culturally dense cities in the United States of America, and definitely the centre of culture and arts in Florida. You can find a number of live theatres in Miami and performing arts schools in Miami which are sure to sate you if you are an aficionado.
The Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts is one of the most culturally significant places in Miami and has been open for more than a decade now. The non-profit organisation has done wonders for the local performing arts in Maimi and has introduced many talented people from the surroundings to the national stage. The shows that are performed there around the year including touring Broadway shows, musicals, world music and even children’s shows – some even have acrobatics and similar acts. The architecture of the centre itself is intimidating, and the place is a must-visit if you are an art aficionado. It is also home to the Florida Grand Opera and the Miami City Ballet, too.
Part of the theatre scene in Miami, The New World Orchestra houses the only full-time orchestral academy in the nation, and has a long history of training and bringing on several world-class musicians to help their cause. Some of the notable people who have taught and conducted there include Itzhak Perlman and Sir Neville Marriner. Since 2011, the academy moved into Soundscape Park – designed by Frank Gehry himself. The place regularly hosts outdoor WALLCAST Concerts which are a must visit.
GableStage is eclectic, to say the least. The place regularly hosts contemporary dramas, with the occasional comedy and classic slid into them too. Joe Adler, the veteran director, selects the productions which will be performed there – they also try to choose from the local talent as much as they can. Excellent acting and amazing production values are the norms in this case.
The Broward Center for the Performing Arts may be in Fort Lauderdale, but it is well worth a trip from Miami if you are a lover of the performed arts. The acts performed there include serious drama, ballet, modern dance, pop concerts and even comedy all features – such as the range of them. The Children’s Theater in the place is also a great treat for any kids in your family, so try and visit it!
Faena is one of the Magic City’s most famous dinner theatres, with their fabulous show Sensatia grabbing headlines for its taste and verve. The dinner is delectable, with it being sumptuous and multi-cuisine – the show intriguing, and it is sure to have an impact on the viewers.
The Setai Hotel has an amazing dinner and a performance deals for visitors, too. Visitors are served sumptuous Asian dinners from the menu of their signature restaurant, Jaya – they are then treated to an amazing performance by fire dancers, contortionists and Geishas, making it one of the best dinner theatres in Miami.
Miami film festival today is also one of the top-rated film festivals in the world, with more than 400 filmmakers and directors in attendance every year. The audience numbers are staggering too, with over 70000 people turning up in recent years. Some of the best-crafted movies from around the world are showcased there. You should definitely visit Miami if you want to enjoy the amazing performing arts scene.
