This course provides Operational Level training for rescuers who respond to emergencies in both steep and high-angle Scenarios.
Students will learn the fundamental knowledge, and skills necessary to safely and competently perform rescues using rope equipment and rope systems within the scope of NFPA 1006 2017 ed. Operations Level.
This class will introduce and discuss rope types, materials, construction, other “software” components, rope “hardware” including care and maintenance, allowing educated decisions for equipment purchases.
Common knots and proper application, construction of anchor points and systems, mechanical advantage pulley systems, belay (safety) systems, and patient packaging will also be introduced and practiced.
