Pallets in the Park: Refreshment
Pallets in the Park is Urban Oasis Project's monthly performance showcase featuring local musical and literary Miami talent. We aim to creatively contribute to South Florida holistic community culture through merging food artisans, creatives and nature.
Saturday, January 26th we'll be celebrating the beginning of 2019 and thinking about how we can begin our flow in a refreshed way. Come stop by and visit us after you get your Legion Park Farmers Market goodies, we'll be vibing with great local Miami talent surrounding by the green goodness of mother earth.
Materia Musica - Sprouted in Miami's tropical concrete jungle, Julia and Buffalo's love of nature and music cultivated love songs dedicated to their favorite medicinal herbs. Materia Musica shares these simple songs that remind and inspire youth and people of all ages to connect with plant allies. Julia and Buffalo travel with Materia Musica throughout the world and grow a garden with all the herbs they sing about in West Palm Beach.Emilia Garth - Emilia’s smooth vocal style is enchanting. She hails from native Hawaiian descent and got her start singing reggae. Her wanderlust has contributed Latin American rhythms to her repertoire as she effortlessly navigates lyrics in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Hawaiian. Since 2015 she’s called Miami her home, devoting her voice and ukulele to songwriting and sound healing by day and performing soulful live vocals with DJs by night.Sean Dibble - Sean Dibble is a musician/composer from Miami. Best known as a percussionist, Sean has been working as an accompanist at New World School of the Arts since 2000. His current projects include "Periphyton", a world music trio with Buffalo Brown and Misty Grotto, "Rhythm Flow", an electronic percussion ensemble and The Original Cover Project (The OCP).Poetry by Benjamin Shahoulian.Also featuring cooking demo by Patricia Clark of All Five Senses from 9-10:30am.Pallets in the Park is made possible with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Cultural Affairs Council, the Mayor, and the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners.
