This event marks the launch of Phase II of Delou Africa’s N.I.M.B.A Series.
Phase I of the project took Delou Africa to Guinea, where the company learned directly from the Baga people — the cultural keepers of the NIMBA tradition. During this phase, Delou Africa studied, learned, and performed alongside traditional drummers, dancers and singers.
Phase II begins with bringing this experience home to Miami.
Join us for: 🎥 Exclusive video footage from Delou Africa’s journey to Guinea ,🗣 A panel discussion with cultural leaders, scholars, practitioners, and 🍽 Light refreshments.
This program explores NIMBA as more than a mask — as a symbol of fertility, womanhood, protection, strength, and communal responsibility.
This portion of the event is FREE and open to the public. Registration is required.
Please note: A West African dance class will follow the panel discussion taught by the Queen herself Mouminatou Camara and requires separate paid registration.
