IMM Workshop: Beading 2.0

Take your beading skills to the next level: learn the technique of loom beading.

Textile artist and IMM Librarian, Carrie Sieh will lead participants in the process of learning how to create woven beadwork jewelry, appliqués, and more. All materials will be provided.

Registration fee includes a take-home bead loom kit so that you can continue working on your creations.

About the instructor:

Carrie Sieh joined the Istituto Marangoni Miami community in 2023. Her responsibilities include developing and managing the library’s collections, as well as providing research consultations to students, faculty, and staff.

Prior to her arrival at Marangoni, Carrie worked at University of Miami’s Richter Library, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. She received her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from San José State University, and her B.A. in Art from University of California at Santa Cruz.

Carrie is also a practicing visual artist, with expertise in needlework and experimental textiles. Her research interests include cultural, technological, and environmental histories.
