Heartsaver® CPR AED

This course is the full classroom option for the AHA Heartsaver – CPR and AED program. The Heartsaver Total course is designed for individuals with little to no medical training who require an OSHA-compliant certification or who simply want to be prepared to respond confidently in emergencies. Participants receive instructor-led CPR and AED instruction, followed by guided hands-on practice to build skills needed in workplace, community, and home settings.

The course concludes with an on-site skills evaluation, which students must successfully complete in order to be awarded their AHA Heartsaver Course Completion eCard, valid for two years.

This course teaches
CPR & AED Skills:

• High-quality CPR for adults
• Optional modules: CPR and AED use for children and infants
• Proper use of an AED for all applicable age groups
• How to assist a choking adult; optional modules for child and infant choking relief

Optional First Aid Skills:
How to identify and respond to

• Heart attack
• Breathing problems
• Severe bleeding
• Shock
• Stroke
• How to assess an injured or ill person
• Controlling bleeding and bandaging
• Correct removal of protective gloves
• Use of an epinephrine pen
• Recognition of common injuries and illnesses
• Basics of preventing illness and injury
• Understanding legal considerations for first aid rescuers
