He is a registered Professional Engineer in Georgia and is a member of ACI, ASCE, AREMA and is Past Secretary of ASTM Subcommittee C09.21 Lightweight Aggregates and Concrete. He is a Past-Chairman of the Expanded Shale, Clay and Slate Institute (ESCSI) Board of Directors and the ESCSI Structural Committee. Ken was the Concrete Promotion Engineer for the Georgia Concrete & Products Association from 1987 – 1993, and was a bridge design engineer in the HNTB Atlanta Office 1979 – 1987. He has authored papers for numerous conferences and symposiums including ACI, PCI, CANMET/ACI, ECI, etc.Stalite Lightweight Aggregate is a family-owned business based in Salisbury, NC. They have two plants in North Carolina that manufacture rotary kiln expanded slate structural lightweight aggregate.
