Mr. Delisfort will speak about this project, which delves into the spiritual origins of Miami’s Indigenous, African, and Caribbean communities and highlights how these cultures are creating sacred spaces in Miami as vital sources of life. He will be joined by professors Michelle Grant-Murray (Miami Dade College, Olujimi Dance Collective, Florida Black Dance Artists Organization) and Dr. Albert Wuaku (FIU Department of Religious Studies).Performance by Michele Grant-Murray and colleagues. Music by DJ Mack.Lunch will be served.This event will take place at  Room 102, Florida International University, 11200 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33199.About Woosler DelisfortBorn and nurtured in Little Haiti, Florida, where he’s currently based, Woosler Delisfort is the living embodiment of creative essence rooted in the depths of heritage and community. Delisfort is a self-taught documentary photographer and filmmaker whose mission is to explore the core principles affecting the collective Human Spirit. His practice uses storytelling to weave together anecdotes and illuminate the realities of our world. Delisfort began his career documenting the emotion, humanity, and spirituality of Little Haiti’s citizens, hoping to replace negative stereotypes with images of joy, life, and creative expression.
