Taboo is a Miami‑born spoken word artist and author whose raw, emotionally charged poetry centers grief, healing, and the quiet strength of everyday people. Salam The Poet is a powerful performer and recent winner of the inaugural Homestead Poetry Slam at the historic Seminole Theatre, known for work that lifts up Black culture, resilience, and “slices of heaven” in daily life.Together, they will offer two 15‑minute sets of spoken word, followed by a guided conversation about art, memory, and what America means at 250 years.The evening will also spotlight the winning entry from our community call for poems inspired by the America 250 “Our American Story” theme.
