The Bass Dialogues with Jack Pierson

is the first exhibition devoted to exploring the city’s transformative impact on Pierson’s life and work. The artist’s initial excursion from New York City to Miami Beach in the winter of 1984 instigated many return visits over the years.

James Voorhies, Curator-at-Large at The Bass, will talk with the Massachusetts-born artist about how the quickly transforming art, fashion, and celebrity cultures of Miami Beach in the 1980s and 90s left an indelible influence on Pierson’s rich and multivalent practice.
