Saddle Fit Clinic in Michigan
Adrienne Hendricks, a Professional Saddle Maker and Official Saddle Fitter of the Tevis Cup, will be here-to teach Saddle Fitting. You can participate in one of two learning opportunities:
a 3-day intensive introduction to Saddle Fitting to include bench work or
a one-day Saddle Fitting overview which will include a tree check
The 3-day clinic is open to 10 participants and the cost is $1750 per person.
Friday: learn how to drop panels and evaluate trees and panels.
This will be hands on and you will need to bring tools (Adrienne will let you know which tools are needed) and one or two English saddles. Discussion will focus on aspects of the inside of a saddle, the tree, billet alignment, flocking, quilting stitches, etc. You will drop and lace your own saddle. This is a great opportunity to learn what true Saddle Fitting involves.
Saturday: walk through how to do tracings and evaluate them.
Adrienne will walk you through how to evaluate the saddle on the horse and how saddle pads affect the fit of the saddle. You will then join in on evaluating the 1 day participants’ saddles under Adrienne’s supervision.
Sunday: discuss tracings and how they affect fit. Continue the discussion on Friday about the inside of a saddle, the tree, billet alignment, flocking, quilting stitches, etc. And lots more hands on droppoing and lacing up saddles.
The 1 day Clinic is open to 30 participants and the cost is $200 per person.
Saturday: walk through how to do Saddle Fittings.
This will be hands on, so bring an English or Western saddle. Start the day with a presentation from Adrienne as she walks you through how she does fittings. Learn how to take tracings and how to analyze them. Discover how the saddle and saddle pads can affect the fit and what can or cannot be done about it. Tree checks will be done on any saddles you bring, taking note of how many saddles we check are compromised. It will be a fun and educational way to learn saddle fitting and see the inside of your saddle.
