"The Gondoliers" by Gilbert and Sullivan tells the story of two Venetian gondoliers, Marco and Giuseppe, who are informed that one of them is the heir to the throne of Barataria. They agree to rule jointly until the true heir can be identified, but complications arise when they discover the heir was married in infancy to a Spanish princess who loves her father's servant. Ultimately, the true heir is revealed.
