The road is tarmacked and you will be trekking through montane and bamboo forest vegetation.(3-4hrs trek) 5:00pm- Arrive at old moses camp, relax and pitch tent. 7:00pm- Dinner is served with an inventory of the day plus a briefing of the next day program. …………………………………………………………………………… DAY 2- OLD MOSES(3300m)-SHIPTON(4200m) Hiking distance -14kms/7-8hrs Elevation- 900m 7: 00 - Breakfast is served 8:00- Start the days hike towards Shipton camp. You will be hiking through moorland vegetation. Proceeding further the vegetation is dotted with giant lobelia plants amongst other beautiful plant life. You will also cross three different rivers starting with ontulili, liki north river and liki river. 1:00- lunch is served on perfect location overlooking the mackinders valleys. From here onwards the highpeaks are visible adorned with the white glacier. 5:00- Arrive at Shiptons base camp. 7:30- Dinner is served and an early retirement is recommended to ensure you have enough sleep and rest before the early summit next day. …………………………………………………………………………… DAY 3 SHIPTON(4200m)- LENANA PEAK(4985m)- (3hrs)- MINTOS HUT(2-3hrs)- LAKE MICHAELSON. 2:30am - Breakfast is served 3:00am - Start the ascent to Lenana peak, a rocky mountain terrain with no vegetation. The incline is steep but still very manageable. 6:00am- Summit lenana point in time for the sunrise.
