The Major Taylor Cycling Club of Virginia (MTCCVA) is calling on members to trade their cycling jerseys for volunteer vests to support Food For Neighbors on Saturday, March 7th, 2026.
Consistent with the club's mission of community service, Food For Neighbors are seeking 30–60 volunteers for each event to assist with their "Red Bag Event," ensuring local students have access to essential nutrition.

Date: Saturday, March 7th, 2026
Time: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Location: TBD (Notification will be sent via club communications once finalized)
Volunteer Age Policy: Children are welcome and eligible for Student Community Service Hours, provided they are 9 years or older.
Volunteer Opportunities:
We need a diverse team to fill the following roles:
Food Sorters: Our primary need—evaluating, inspecting, and organizing donations into categories.
Logistics & Unloading: Unloading "Red Bags" from vehicles, emptying them, and moving filled bins.
Coordinators: Helping organize drivers and volunteers as they arrive on-site.
Site Support: Assisting with setup (8:30 AM arrival), cleanup, and organizing empty bags for the next event.
Photography: Capturing photos of the event to help promote future community engagement.
