- **Event Description**: Looking for an unforgettable Halloween weekend? Grab your costume, your hiking boots, and your camping gear, and join Hiking with Josh for two nights of camping, hiking, great food, and Halloween fun!

We'll spend Friday and Saturday night camping at beautiful Lake Whitney State Park, giving everyone plenty of time to relax around the campfire, meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts, and enjoy a weekend surrounded by nature.

On Saturday morning, we'll head over to Meridian State Park for a scenic 4–5 mile day hike, where we'll explore one of Texas' hidden gems before making our way back to camp.

Once we're back at Lake Whitney, leave dinner to me! I'll be cooking up a big batch of homemade chicken fajitas for everyone to enjoy before the evening festivities begin. You're welcome to bring food to share as well!

As the sun goes down, we'll stroll through the campgrounds to check out the Halloween campsite decorating contest, where campers transform their campsites into spooky works of art. Then we'll join the park rangers for a Haunted Hike beginning at 7:30 PM - a Halloween special you won't want to miss!

After surviving the haunted trail, we'll head back to camp to relax around the fire, share stories, enjoy some Halloween treats, and keep the fun going late into the night.

Whether you're an experienced hiker, a weekend camper, or just looking for a unique way to celebrate Halloween outdoors, this is the perfect weekend getaway. Costumes are encouraged, Halloween spirit is required, and new friends are guaranteed!

Important information:
- Reservations: They are available online from https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com/, 30 days prior to the event for a day pass, and 5 months prior for camping reservations. See the shared Google Calendar (https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0...) which has all of the scheduled events, and event reminders about obtaining passes. Make sure you print them out and bring them with you to make your trip a smooth one!


- Waiver/Release: Make sure you fill out a waiver/release form (https://docs.google.com/.../1vdhCDW7bpvdlmnkPrV.../edit...) and either send it to me as a PDF (Facebook messenger is fine), or print it out and bring it with you. I will have blanks available at the start of the event if you forget. However, you WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to join the adventure without one being completed!


- What to bring?: Required items are - A positive attitude, at least 3L of water, and snacks. Nice to have things are - Personal first aid kit, electrolytes, hiking poles, head covering and/or sunscreen.
