Friendsgiving Festival: Celebrating All Abilities, Together
Friendsgiving Festival is a Thanksgiving-inspired celebration of community, inclusion, and the power of coming together. Hosted by EmpowerKids Foundation and The SPOT, this annual event is a joyful, sensory-friendly day filled with live music, food trucks, games, raffles, a vendor market, and so much more — all designed with accessibility and connection in mind.
As our signature fundraising event, all proceeds go directly to supporting families and individuals with exceptional abilities:
EmpowerKids Foundation is raising funds to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van for a deserving grant recipient.
The SPOT is raising money to expand inclusive sports and holiday events, and to help launch a dedicated community center for individuals with special needs and their families.
The day begins with our beloved Adaptive Color Walk — a modified color run specially designed for participants with extra needs. Children are grouped by age and can walk, run, roll, jump, or spin through a vibrant color-powder walkway, led by some of their favorite superheroes (last year, Captain America and Batman stole the show!).
After the walk, guests are invited to explore a diverse vendor market, enjoy sweet treats and savory bites from local food trucks and kick back with a mocktail or adult beverage while enjoying live performances from talented local musicians.
Both EmpowerKids Foundation and The SPOT are proudly affiliated with the Community Foundation of East Mississippi, allowing donors to give with confidence, knowing their support is handled with transparency and impact.
