Long message warning!!!
Hello Class! Exactly 4 years ago today we were meeting up at Sol for our 40 year reunion. Next year we will be meeting up exactly one year from today for our 45 year. It’s extremely hard for me to believe that so much time has gone by. We’ve lost some of the most wonderful friends from this class, so many that I’ve lost count. There may be some I may not even know about, and some passed so long ago that it’s hard to remember. The one constant that we’ve had is coming together for these reunions. It’s been such a pleasure to organize these gatherings and learn more about the people you have become. I must say that it’s been very hard for me to mingle and talk extensively to all of you because I’m so busy running around and making sure things run smoothly.
This next reunion will be a little different. I’m still planning it and making the announcements for what to expect. But this reunion will be my last. My hope is to be able to show up for the 50 year reunion (God willing) where I’m the guest and have no obligation to organize or worry whether everyone is enjoying themselves. I want to sit down and have heart to heart conversations with classmates I didn’t get to know in school. How many of you can honestly say they know me? Believe me there are very few.
So, now, on to the big announcement!! I’ve decided where the reunion will be, what day it will be held, and what to expect!
I’ve been getting really tired of having the reunion at a loud bar that is open to the public. There is very little room to wander and mingle and most times it’s too loud to hear what we are saying.
Our very own friend and classmate, Ben Beasley, has agreed to let me rent his new business facility Pickleball Play 365! The place is fabulous! I went for a visit the other day and met up with Ben. It was a nice surprise to see David Kolesar as well. Needless to say that I’m always so very proud and happy to promote a business that a classmate has created, so for me, this is a perfect fit! The area inside is spacious and it would closed off to only us!! This will be a very casual and laid back reunion. I will be collecting a $15 cover at the door which will go toward the cost of Ben shutting down his business for us. Pickleball will be available so wear your athletic gear! I wanted it to feel like a house party that we used to go to when we were in high school, so BYOB and I’ll have some beer/coolers etc. there in case you forget to pack your own cooler! Those of us who aren’t drinkers, I’ll have soft drinks and water as well. I’m not sure about the food yet. I really don’t want anyone to have to make food, so I just may get a catering place to bring in apps and snacks for us. This will NOT be a sit down dinner. I’m hoping that will happen for the big 5 0!! We’ve always been a casual class and always seem to have fun no matter what the atmosphere is like. I’m going to put some kind of soundtrack together so that we can listen to our 70s/80s music instead of the crap they play on the radio today! Do I sound like our parents lol!!
Please send your feedback on this idea. Not that I’m going to change my mind, but I would like to see if anyone has something to add to this. Ideas are welcome!
The reunion will be July 11, 2026. The start time is to be determined by Ben, so I’ll post that soon. The website will be provided below. Let’s all have a huge round of applause for Ben, not only for creating this new business, but allowing us to have our reunion at his facility. I am so excited about this. Thanks for listening and sorry about the rambling. Respond at your own risk! Love to you all. Lisa
