As the Director of Planning, Building, and Sustainability for the City of Mountain Brook, Dana spearheaded the City’s acceptance into the Bee City USA affiliate program (the first city in Alabama to become a Bee City affiliate), and formed the City’s first Environmental Sustainability Committee.

Dana’s passion is native habitat advocacy, and she enjoys hosting speaking engagements on the topics of native plants and native bees for garden clubs in Alabama and Georgia. From 2023 to 2025 Dana partnered with native plant grower and retailer Recreative Natives in Cropwell, Alabama, serving as the Education and Community Outreach Coordinator. Dana recently moved to the Lookout Highlands community in GA, and is enjoying getting to know the woodlands she now calls home.
