- **Event Description**: After Moon Lake Library showed the documentary "The Uprising of '34" in September and librarian Anne McLeod shared some local details based on her doctoral research, several people who attended requested more information about the strike in Alabama and Georgia. 

Anne was initially intrigued by the strike, the largest in US history up to that point, because of violence that took place in her hometown of Trion, GA, just as the strike began. Textile mill owners suppressed much of this history, as they fired many striking workers, and those who were rehired were forced to promise that they would never mention the labor union again. 

This Sunday afternoon program will provide historical details and information about how Anne became aware of the strike. She will also share what she learned from talking to relatives of some Chattooga County families affected by the violence when she spoke to the Chattooga County Historical Society in November. 

Additional library parking is available on the grass beside the library and around the corner at the Moon Lake Campus lot.
