Community Folksongs is a multi event program centered around Muscle Shoals recording artist, singer/ songwriter and Fort Payne native Russell Gulley.
Russell uses his skills and musical heritage to create songs based on oral histories collected with student participation, and recorded and performed with student participants of the Fort Payne High School Guitar Classes under the direction of Guitar Teacher ,Chris Roberts.
The Feb. 27th program brings to the Fort Payne Middle School, internationally acclaimed Japanese guitarist, Hiroya Tuscamoto for an inschool performance plus a public evening performance at the Mentone Arts Center.
Joining Hiroya will be acclaimed Huntsville, Alabama guitarist, Mike Slaten in an entertaining evening for all ages, as well as an educational experience for students.
This event will be the first of several events as part of the COMMUNITY FOLKSONGS PROGRAM.
