During this workshop, attendees will learn about the keystone plants native to Wisconsin and how to design with them in your own yard. Featuring two speakers, a question and answer session, and tours of local properties that have gone and are going native.

John Muetz from Beaver Creek Reserve will introduce keystone plants and emphasize the important trees and shrubs that support insects and everything that relies on them.

Sean VanderWaal, owner of Habitat Native Plants and an instructor at the Chippewa Valley Technical College, addresses designing with natives with special emphasis on fall keystone plants.

John, Sean and Megen Hines (Menomonie Environmental Planner and avid gardener) will participate in a question and answer session.

The day begins at 8:30 and concludes in the afternoon with tours of three local properties utilizing numerous natives in their landscapes.

Registration includes lunch and four free native plants.
