The Equipment Specialist course is often overlooked by divers of all experience levels, but it can often prove to be one of the most essential courses PADI offers.
We've all been there...your gauge starts leaking, your buddy's regulator hose ruptures, or another fin strap breaks. Knowing how to maintain your gear, and more importantly, how to handle the in-the-field repairs can make or break your dive outing.
The PADI Equipment Specialist course will cover product knowledge, a little bit of history of how the gear has changed, but the main focus is preventative maintenance & in-the-field repairs. There is no book for this course, no Knowledge Reviews, no test...just alot of hands-on training, and discussion.
Bring a notepad and pen, and be ready to take notes. If you are looking to build your own Save-A-Dive kit...this course will help pick and choose the tools and supplies you will need for most equipment malfunctions.
This course is a MUST HAVE for anyone considering becoming a Divemaster or Instructor!
And if you are on a local Dive Team...at least ONE dive team member should have this training! Just in case...
