Ice Diver Course

Ice Diving...1/2 of the divers think we are crazy, 1/2 of the divers think its AWESOME! Which one are you?
Ice Diving is a great group activity. Unlike our "normal" diving, we need 5 or more divers to really make things fun. Line tenders, equipment handlers, rescue divers...there are several critical roles required when ice diving.
Why go ice diving? It's fun. It breaks up the winter. And many of our local lakes have very, very good visibility in the winter. Plus if you are a Public Safety Diver, Ice Diver training is a MUST!
The PADI Ice Diver course requires three dives for certification. We do the classroom discussion on February 27th at 5:30pm, then we conduct the dives on Feb 28 & March 1st during the day. We try to do two dives on the first day (weather dependent) and at least one on the second day.
With a little planning you can do this course in a wetsuit (without turning blue).
Drysuits are always a more comfortable option. If you are already Drysuit certified we do have drysuits available to rent for the course. $275 per diver. Rentals are extra.
