Benito Cortez is Jazz violinist who fell in love with swing jazz after listening to a Stephane Grappelli record while in the high school youth symphony. After years of orchestral and chamber music, Benito explored improvised violin with bands covering a range of styles from Burt Bacharach songs to progressive rock to Cuban charanga and Portuguese fado. He has performed with various gypsy jazz bands around the San Francisco Bay Area and also currently tours with Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks.
Nate Lisbin is a Jazz pianist.
As a duet, they will be playing mostly French & American Jazz Standards/Big Band music (from the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, a few pop and a few Straight-ahead jazz!
