About the Tellers:

- Roopa Mohan grew up in southern India, steeped in the tradition of sacred myths. She shares stories at the Asian Art Museum, often braiding in her childhood memories. As a Chautauqua scholar, Roopa portrays Kasturba Gandhi. Roopa is a board member of the Storytelling Association of California. http://www.roopamohan.com/

- Eleanor Clement Glass delights children with folktales from around the world as a Volunteer Storyteller at the Asian Art Museum, in Bay Area public schools and libraries, and on the Asian American Storytopia YouTube channel. She also tells personal family stories from her Black and Filipino cultures. https://www.stagebridge.org/stagebridge-teacher-bios

- Linda Yemoto is a retired park naturalist, co-producer of the Bay Area Storytelling Fesival, storyteller and docent at the Asian Art Museum, and "Baachan" (grandma) to a very curious, very talkative, 3-year old granddaughter. About Storytelling:

- Storytelling is telling stories--without using a book.
- It's an ancient art form that predates libraries, and books, and writing.
- It's not necessarily for children!
- Traditional-style storytelling creates unique images in the mind of each listener.
- According to the National Storytelling Network, "storytelling is the interactive art of using words and actions to reveal the elements and images of a story while encouraging the listener’s imagination. In storytelling, the listener imagines the story.”
- According to the Storytelling Association of California (an organization dedicated to promoting storytelling as a living art form), storytelling is “orally passing on adventures, wisdom, experiences, surprise, history, laughter, beliefs and imagination.”
