Performed with historically informed practice—on gut strings, wooden flutes, natural trumpets, Baroque bows, and tuning at A = 415—this Mass comes alive with a sound world that is warm, transparent, and deeply expressive. Dance rhythms, luminous choral textures, and virtuosic solo moments reveal Bach’s music not as distant sacred artifact, but as living, breathing humanity in sound.  

As the final “Dona nobis pacem” rings out, it becomes more than the end of a masterpiece: it is a shared prayer for peace and a celebration of fifteen years of musical life in the Somerset Hills—of Shared Voices. Shared Purpose. Shared Humanity.
