What does a bat-friendly landscape look like?

Join Wild Ones for a free national webinar with Brandi Christiano, PhD, and Megan White of Bat Conservation International to learn how native plants, healthy insect populations, and thoughtful landscape choices can help support bats in our communities.

Supporting bats at home involves more than installing a bat house. Bats need food, clean water, safe places to roost, dark travel corridors, and landscapes rich in insect life. Native plants can help provide the foundation for this habitat by supporting the moths and other insects that many bats depend on.

Brandi and Megan will explore the lives of bats, the ecological relationships that sustain them, and practical ways to make home and community landscapes safer and more supportive for these important nighttime neighbors.

You’ll learn:
The important roles bats play in our ecosystems
What bats need for feeding, drinking, shelter, and movement
How native plants support moths and other insects bats depend on
Ways to provide safer water sources and dark areas for bats
When and where bat houses may be useful
Practical ways to reduce hazards and improve bat habitat at home
