In the summer of 2006, 12 men from Calvary Episcopal and First Methodist churches joined forces to sing several arrangements of spirituals at morning services under the direction of then associate choirmaster John Palmer. These “12 good men” as they were called, formed the nucleus of what became the Memphis Men’s Chorale. Since then, the Men’s Chorale has provided public performances of choral music for men’s voices, more recently as the first of Memphis ChoralArts four chorales.
Join the men of the Memphis Men’s Chorale at 7 PM on Tuesday March 3rd as they return to Calvary to celebrate their 20th Anniversary with “Brothers Sing On!” a concert of classic compositions for men’s voices and for the reception to follow. Tickets are available on the Memphis ChoralArts website or at the door. $15 for adults, $5 for children 18 and under
