The Melton RSL Sub-Branch warmly invites the entire community to join us on ANZAC Day 2026 as we come together in remembrance, gratitude and respect for the men and women who have served our nation. Throughout the morning, a series of traditional services and community activities will provide opportunities for quiet reflection, shared remembrance and local fellowship.

Dawn Service

Assembly: 5:30 AM
Service Commences: 6:00 AM

As the sun rises, our community will gather in the stillness of the early morning for the ANZAC Day Dawn Service — a solemn and meaningful tradition observed across Australia and New Zealand. All members of the public are welcome to attend as part of the audience and share in this important moment of remembrance.

The Dawn Service will include:

- Readings from local school students
- A moment of silence in honour of the fallen
- The Ode of Remembrance
- The playing of Reveille
- Wreath laying by invited dignitaries and community representatives

This service is a time for quiet reflection and gratitude, allowing us all to pause and remember the sacrifices made in the service of our country.

Gunfire Breakfast

From: 7:00 AM
Location: Melton Country Club
Donation: $2 per person

Following the Dawn Service, the public is invited to gather at the Melton Country Club for a traditional Gunfire Breakfast. With a small $2 donation, attendees can enjoy a warm breakfast and friendly conversation in a relaxed and welcoming setting. This long-standing ANZAC Day custom offers a chance for the community to reconnect after the solemnity of the dawn ceremony.

Mid-Morning March & Commemorative Service

March Assembly: 9:30 AM
Location: Alexandra Street (next to Ollie’s Chicken)
March Step-Off: 10:00 AM
Destination: Melton Cenotaph

Later in the morning, the people of Melton are invited to once again come together for the ANZAC Day March. Participants will assemble on Alexandra Street before marching along High Street to the Melton Cenotaph in a proud and respectful procession.

Upon arrival, a Mid-Morning Commemorative Service will be conducted, featuring traditional ceremonial elements and formal addresses from community leaders. This service provides another opportunity for collective remembrance and acknowledgement of the enduring ANZAC spirit.

Two-Up

Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: Melton Country Club

Following the mid-morning service, community members aged 18 and over are invited back to the Melton Country Club to participate in Two-Up, the iconic and uniquely Australian game traditionally played on ANZAC Day. It is a spirited and social activity that continues a piece of living history and camaraderie.

ANZAC Day is a time to honour courage, sacrifice and service, but it is also a day for community — to stand together, reflect together and remember together. The Melton RSL Sub-Branch looks forward to welcoming residents, families and visitors alike as we mark this important day in our national calendar.
