All ages and abilities welcome, inc children and parents, so please feel free to pop down and join us for some skating in the sun. (weather permitting of course??) What the heck is the Skate Social? - The Skate Social is a relaxed public meet up of rollerskaters and rollerbladers of all ages and abilities from the local area. It's nothing serious, it's just a fun leisurely skate around in the car park (think outdoor roller rink, everyone going in the same direction, some music, etc). Everyone is welcome, and we hope as many of you as possible are able to come and join us. So parents bring the kids, kids bring your parents, everyone bring your skating buddies, and lets all skate together Q. Is it in the whole car park? - No. We tend to use the area on the right near the recycling area for skating, and park in the main car park on the left. Q. Is it free parking? - Yes, but only for 2 HOURS, so make sure you remember what time you arrived so you dont incur any parking fines, as the parking restrictions still apply even after the store has closed. Q. Will there be lessons? - Our members are always on hand to offer any help, support or advice needed, just ask. Q. What ages is it for? - We have members of all ages who join us to skate, ranging from 5 to 55, and everyone is welcome to join in, whether youre a beginner or a pro, just bring your skates, your pads, and a smile. Q. Can parents walk with children on skates? - Yes, absolutely. We are all about having fun safely and building confidence, so you are more than welcome to walk with them. We may also provide a separate area for it if there's enough demand. Q. Can my friends come that don't skate? - Of course, but we do ask that non skaters keep off the skating area whenever possible and are respectful. We completely understand that sometimes the best way to get into something new is by watching others doing it and having fun, so this might be a great way to introduce your friends to the joys of skating. We are all about building a community of confident happy skaters, if that is your vibe then you will always be welcome. Q. Can I bring refreshments? - Yes, of course. We advise everyone to bring plenty of drinks and snacks, especially if its hot. We do ask that you dispose of your rubbish properly and treat the car park and store with respect, as it is private property and providing we are respectful and responsible with their property we hope they will allow us to continue to use the car park after closing. Q. Is it just for rollerskaters? - No, we welcome all wheels. we know that some kids dont enjoy skating (crazy I know, right?), so siblings are permitted to also bring scooters, skateboards or bikes, although we do ask that these are used away from the skating area wherever possible for the safety of our rollerskaters. SKATE SAFE - Please remember, you skate at your own risk, so wear pads and a helmet if required. Also, the car park is used by driving instructors for lessons, and there are also occasional cars, so we ask that you are vigilant of traffic, you watch your children and that all skaters stay within the skating area.
