Perfect for complete beginners and those with a little experience, this immersive 2.5-hour session will guide you through the magic of transforming raw glass into a shimmering piece of art to display in your home.Please note we are at Unit 23 in The Bell CentreWhat to Expect🔹 Design & Glass CuttingWith guidance from Sarah, you’ll explore the day’s pattern design and practice cutting techniques on clear float glass. Once you’re comfortable, choose from a selection of colourful glass pieces to start cutting and grinding your ornament.🔹 Foiling & AssemblyAfter shaping your pieces, you’ll clean, dry, and apply copper foil to prepare for assembly. Then comes the exciting part - soldering your glass pieces together to form your finished suncatcher. Pre-made jump rings will be provided so you can easily attach a hanger.🔹 Finishing TouchesWe’ll clean away any remaining flux and you’ll have the option to apply a patina to darken the solder lines for a classic look - or keep them bright and silver.By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a beautiful stained glass ornament to hang in your window. Stained glass is a great way to turn creative ideas into something tangible.
