We are very pleased to announce the date for the 2nd year of the Viva La Bachata Cup to be held at La Bodega on Saturday 21st February 2026.
Those attended the first Viva La Bachata Cup in February 2025 would remember how much fun it was, the competition, the singing, the dancing, the party, the incredible Caribbean vibes right here in Melbourne. Mark in your calendar, you do not want to miss this event.
🇩🇴There will be morning and afternoon workshops presented by the top national Bachata Instructors.
💃🏻🕺🏽Then the Bachata social dancing competition will start in the afternoon (2:30pm-5:00pm).
🏆The top 8 couples will compete in the final battle at night (from 8:30pm) with lots of social dancing throughout the night's party.
🥇The competition process we introduced is like how it is competed in the Dominican Republic. It is different from Jack and Jill competition. You will be dancing with your chosen/agreed dance partner with random bachata music. (a list of possible competition songs list will be provided for practice)
👩🏻🤝👨🏽👭👬Two special changes we have made are adding same gender couples in the competition; and additional awards for best lead/follow. Competition process details, prizes, judges, music list, and registration will be published soon.
