Winter Solstice Celebration: Ayni Despacho & Cacao Ceremony
Join us for a powerful and transformative day as we honor the Winter Solstice—the longest night of the year and the turning point where we welcome back the sun. This ceremony is a profound opportunity to align with the energies of Ayni (sacred reciprocity), balance, and the interconnectedness of all beings.
Together, we will co-create a healing offering to the earth, the elements, and the spiritual world to embrace the stillness of winter and set intentions for the light ahead.
The Ceremonies
The Ayni Despacho
Guided by experienced shamans, we will come together to prepare a Despacho—a sacred prayer bundle rooted in the ancient traditions of the Andean people.
* What it is: A Despacho is a mandala-like offering created using sacred items such as flowers, herbs, seeds, sweets, and natural elements.
* The Purpose: It serves as a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. We infuse these items with our energy, gratitude, and requests for harmony. Once complete, the bundle is released to the earth as an offering of love, healing, and reverence, restoring balance to our lives and the world around us.
The Cacao Ceremony
To deepen our connection to the ritual, this gathering will also include a sacred Cacao Ceremony.
* What is Cacao? Cacao is the raw, unprocessed form of chocolate, revered by ancient cultures as a "plant teacher." Unlike your average candy bar, ceremonial cacao is prepared with intention and retains its natural, active compounds.
* Why is it special? Cacao is known as a heart-opener. It gently facilitates a state of inner focus, emotional release, and euphoric presence.
Drinking cacao allows us to drop out of our heads and into our hearts, making us more open to receiving the blessings of the Despacho and connecting deeply with the community.

Settings & What to Bring
If weather permits we will be outside so dress appropriately. Bring an inside or outside seat if sitting on the ground or folding chair isn’t optimal. Blanket, cushion, and water are also suggested if needed.
