TICKETS AND MORE INFO: www.trybooking.com/DOOEC Departing Newport at 4:31pm and Flinders Street at 4:58pm, our train will head through Melbourne's Southeastern Suburbs and along Port Phillip Bay towards Frankston. Passing over the recently constructed viaducts, take in the evening views across the beaches of Parkdale, Mordialloc & Carrum. After a quick stop in Frankston to let the Long Island steel train pass, we will continue onto the Stony Point line, which now rarely sees steam. Passing through the lush hills of the Mornington Peninsula, our train will traverse what feels like a country branchline, only an hour from the city. With the Mornington Line closing in 1981, our mainline train can no longer head to the seaside. Arriving into Somerville at 6:39pm, passengers will disembark with an option to either spend an evening here, or board road coaches for a short transfer to the centre of Mornington. Returning to the train at Somerville after an evening on the Mornington Peninsula, we will board the train at 9:15pm and have an express run North back to Melbourne. Arriving at Flinders Street at 10:39pm and Newport at 11:06pm, we finish a memorable celebration onboard The Vintage Train! MORNINGTON Enjoy the journey through to Somerville, where you will disembark for a 20-minute transfer by comfortable coach to Mornington. Spend an evening in the seaside suburb, with many cafes and restaurants along Main St and the foreshore. More things to do in the heart of Mornington can be found at Visit Mornington Peninsula. EXCURSION CLASS Experience our 'E Type' Carriages dating back to 1906 with beautiful timber work and pressed-tin ceilings, walk-through corridors and comfortable compartment-style seating. Featuring 'old-school air-con', with the windows wide open to listen to the engine working hard up the hills. All seating is reserved. PRIVATE CARRIAGE HIRE We can provide private carriage hire for groups of up to 88 passengers. THE VINTAGE TRAIN Ride with us onboard 'The Vintage Train’, fully restored by Steamrail as an important part of Victoria’s rail heritage. Our steam locomotives are coal or oil fired and date from 1889 to 1952, while the carriages range from as early as 1906. The train features beautiful timber work & pressed-metal ceilings, walk-through corridors, comfortable compartment style seating, a licensed bar and kiosk, and toilets with washrooms. All rail seating is reserved. ON-TRAIN SERVICES Our on-train facilities include a kiosk which stocks a wide range of light refreshments, snacks and hot & cold drinks. A licensed bar will also be operating, serving a range of beers, wines and spirits.
