Flinders Court, Melbourne, Australia
For most of its history Melbourne has been a bastion of the powerful vampiric conspiracy known as the Camarilla, but the last decade has seen the city’s Kindred fall to chaos and infighting. The assassins who murdered Lord Flinders, the nightmarish reign of the Mad Prince Moon, the mysterious Curfew War, the bloody lawlessness of Baron Leo, and the warped mockery called the Widowed Prince all threatened to eradicate the Ivory Tower from the World’s Most Liveable City. And yet it rules once more, as it does over most of the continent.
Yet not all of it. And with Adelaide now following Melbourne’s lead in the rise of a non-Ventrue Prince, the Camarilla does not look as it did. Even the darkest of Kindred, once shunned and detested, have been welcome in its number. And now those shadow-clad devils demand audience.
The Camarilla made a bargain when they let the darkness in. Now the abyss calls on that bargain. And what must be done must not be done in the halls of Elysium.
Midnight in Melbourne: Dark Eucharist is a casual live-action roleplay set in Melbourne's vampire society based on the world of Vampire: the Masquerade. No experience with the setting or with roleplaying is necessary, but a session of Dungeons & Dragons, improv theatre sports, or a M**der mystery party is somewhere close to what you can expect.
This event follows from our last, but it is not necessary to have attended it nor any of our other events to enjoy this one (participants who have attended previous events may be able to portray characters from them with approval). No experience with the event's systems are necessary (a simplified custom system will be in use with an even simpler version available for new or reserved participants).
This event focuses on the temptation of unholy bargains, dangerous alliances, and the allure of power in exchange for damnation. Political persecution and violence are expected and encouraged.
Proudly created in collaboration with Sub Club.
Finger-food available at intermission (GF and vegan options available, though not all requirements or preferences may be accomodated).
It is recommended to "dress like a vampire." Your style of dress will determine which faction you will be cast into:
Media to consider when dressing include many classic vampire films and TV shows including Interview With The Vampire, Blade, The Lost Boys, From Dusk Til Dawn, True Blood, Twilight, Underworld, Angel, and (probably most accurately) What We Do In The Shadows.
Please avoid weapon props, especially those that look realistic.
Tickets: Tickets will only be refunded up to one day before the event (eventbrite fees paid by buyer) or if the event is cancelled. Tickets may not be available at the door. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience.
Content: Midnight in Melbourne is for mature audiences and contains themes of horror, crime, exploitation, objectification, othering, cruelty, victimisation, and violation. Safety tools for safe roleplay are in use, but some content and performances may be confronting for some participants. Attendees must be over 18 years.
Accessibility and Inclusion: Midnight in Melbourne is LGBTQIA+ inclusive. This event uses lighting and sound effects. Attendees are required to adhere to laws and regulations as specified by Sub Club and Liquor Licensing Victoria.
