The Melbourne Line Dancing Group has been active for around 7 years. Weekly sessions are based around learning traditional and contemporary Chinese dances. Our group comprises of women many with Chinese Heritage, but all are welcome. Members of the group regularly participate in significant cultural and local events such as Chinese NewYear, Autumn Moon Festival, Australia Day and Moomba Parade. Our group has also performed at Oaks Day at Flemington.

Our sessions are held every Thursday between 10 and 4. Time varies according to forthcoming events which may require extra practise. We always begin with warm-up stretching and exercise. Volunteer instructors take you through dances step by step. People can join in on a casual basis as per their level of interest. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Interested people can just join in on the day. If they wish to attend regularly, registration at one of our sessions is necessary. We are a volunteer run group. Our dance sessions provide a social arena for those wishing to alleviate isolation whilst improving health and fitness.
