About the event

Free Talk: Myth and Religion in Ancient Cyprus

Get a taste of what to expect at the 2026 annual Hellenic Museum Summer School with this free talk presented by Dr Christopher Gribbin! 11AM Sunday 30 November online or in-person at the Hellenic Museum.

Discover the magic of ancient Cyprus an island with a unique and complex history. Located in the eastern Mediterranean it straddled both the Greek and Near Eastern worlds in antiquity — a fact seen most vividly in its religious sites where Greek and Phoenician elements sat side by side for centuries. In this free lecture Dr Chris Gribbin will explore some of ancient Cyprus' most spectacular religious sites and the fascinating myths that went along with them.

This is a free event however bookings are essential!
