Advaita Vedanta is Knowledge that ends the search for knowledge of "Who and what am I? What is God? What is purpose of my existence? How was the universe Created? How is it that all is ONE, when I clearly see differences in the world? How to tell absolute Truth from Falsehood disguised as truth? How should I live on earth? How do discover permanent happiness irrespective of external events?"
Purpose of these ongoing Melbourne weekly classes - is to expound the entire Bhagavad Gita, verse-by-verse, and selected verses from various Upanishads. Both which reveal the highest Knowledge; that because of which all else is known, both the known and the unknown.
Direct abidance in Self as Self as beautifully taught by Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Chinmayananda, Vivekananda, Ramakrishna - is the purpose of attendance. Ending saṃsāra by unceasing recognition of the one non-negatable Absolute Truth (Brahman).

The Mahabharata rightly declares: Gītā sugītā kartavyā kimanyaiḥ śāstravistaraiḥ – "If you master the Bhagavad Gita, what is the need for a pile of Scriptures?"
This is justly so for the timeless message of the Bhagavad Gita that was given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the battlefield of life is the very essence of all the scriptures – the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Mahabharata and so on.
Immensely practical and thus the most popular of the scriptural texts through the millennia the Bhagavad Gita is an unparalleled self-transformation tool.
Mastering the wisdom of the Gita one truly masters the MIND, LIFE and the WORLD.
The entire vision of non-dual Reality is passed onto the student by intensive self-enquiry and depth of each verse. Once Self-Knowledge is properly assimilated by the student, as guided by the teacher; ācāryaḥ), the direct and permanent understanding of reality (satcitananda) becomes clear, AS IT IS.
Thus the purpose of these classes is to guide the aspirant to accomplishment of the highest goal of human life (Liberation / Enlightenment; moksha) - taught step-by-step through the timeless guru-śiṣya-parampara (guru-student lineage).
Advaita Vedanta classes per tradition have always remained free and any sincere student ready to let go of false notions and realize the vision of Oneness (non-duality / nondualism; one without a second) will automatically be attracted to Vedanta.
Classes are weekly every Tuesday 6:15-9:00pm in Blackburn, Melbourne. Attendance is free. Teacher has own job and chooses not to depend on classes for income.
